Patients with muscular ailments are demanding the UW Medical School re-open a lab for those with multiple sclerosis and ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The lab was operated by a doctor who supporters say fell out of favor with administrators. UW hospital officials say a failure to follow rules, not hard feelings, is why the lab shut its doors.
