The legislature’s joint finance committee wrapped up its work on the state budget just a couple hours ago… following through on promises to cut state aid to schools.Majority Democrats spared deeper cuts to local governments through a new fee on cell phones… and spared cuts elsewhere by expanding a hospital tax.As Shawn Johnson reports… they also passed several proposals that have little to do with balancing the state’s books…
