The number of deer killed over opening weekend is up a bit from last year.Hunters harvested 167,573 deer through Sunday.That compares with 161-thousand over the same time last year.The Department of Natural Resources says this was one of the safest hunting opening weekends in Wisconsin history.Even so, three people died this weekend.
