D-A Can Proceed in Caucus Probe

A Dane County Cirucit Judge has ruled a prosecutor in the caucus scandal probe can continue on the case.Judge Sarah O’Brien ruled Dane County District Attorney Brian Blanchard can continue his probe.Critics claimed Blanchard had a conflict of interest because he got help with his nomination papers from a caucus employee.
That alleged conflict of interest was one of the arguments heard before the state’s high court. Lawyers representing law-makers, staff and even the judge in the secret hearings over the caucus scandal went before the state Supreme court.Frederica Freyberg reports.
