One of the most powerful figures in Wisconsin government during the last decade was sentenced yesterday to nine months in jail.
Former State Senate Majority Leader Chuck Chvala is to begin his jail term in February.His sentence is three months longer than defense attorneys and prosecutors agreed to when Chvala pleaded guilty to two felonies earlier this year.
But the Judge who handed down the ruling said that Chvala’s case needed to send a message other public officials in Wisconsin.Shawn Johnson reports…
