This week’s new album from the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and conductor Andrew Manze features the tranquil orchestral music of two English composers who took an interest in folk songs: Gustav Holst and his younger contemporary, George Butterworth, whose promising career was cut short in the trenches of World War I.
