Eric Caldera grew up in San Antonio, Texas before calling Madison, Wisconsin home. He moved to Madison to attend the UW and pursue a doctorate; studying the genetic disposition of Central American ants — and along the way he formed the instrumental rock trio, El Valiente.
Often combining elements of chaos with meticulously ordered guitar and glockenspiel interplay, they create melodically-rich instrumental soundscapes that are difficult to categorize.
