Martha Redbone is a musician with a rich and diverse background that includes Cherokee, Choctaw, African-American and European ancestors. These influences come together in her music, for a powerful unique sound. Martha appeared in Wisconsin at the 2013 Sugar Maple Traditional Music Festival, and shared some music and conversation with Stephanie Elkins from the Roots and Reasons Stage there. Her latest album sets the works of English poet William Blake to songs inspired by the Appalachia.
