The album is promoted as “an exotic escape from the mundane to an exciting world of tropical sounds and passionate rhythms….”, and after a brief listening, I enthusiastically agree.

The first track, “L’taliana” convinced me the praise for Linstead’s new release is more than justified. Moreover, his command of his instrument is richly negotiated and the melodies are transformative, particularly for those tracks that employ a taste of Gypsy violin, Afro-Cuban percussion, and and occassional accordion.
