Earlier this week, I sat down for a video interview with English conductor Nicholas McGegan, who will be in Milwaukee Nov. 21-23 to conduct the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in George Frideric “Handel’s Messiah.”

We spoke about Handel’s most famous work and why it’s remained so popular since it premiered in 1742. We also talked about McGegan’s experience with instruments from the 18th century and what that has taught us, plus a few of his favorite things in Milwaukee.
