The Center for World Music is a nonprofit organization whose primary purpose is to foster intercultural awareness and understanding through in-depth encounters with the world’s performing arts traditions. To that end, we sponsor educational outreach, performances, and cultural programs abroad. The Center for World Music and I are engaged in discussions at how The Road To Higher Ground and the CFWM might forge a collaborative effort to support musicians with a world music podcast. These talks would help increase understanding of those whose musical traditions are ‘different.’ We’ll also explore how together we might extend the cultural celebration of people from lands across the globe.
