A Democratic candidate for Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District is launching a website that he says reveals just how conservative his Republican opponent really is. However, the target of that website calls it misleading.
Candidates for office often try to put themselves in the best light possible to attract voters. Mark Harris, the Democratic candidate in the 6th Congressional District, said his Republican opponent, state Sen. Glenn Grothman, is trying to obscure a conservative record.
“Even his new (general election) yard signs says ‘Standing Up for Our Values’ when his primary yard signs used to say ‘Fighting for Conservative Values,’” Harris said.

Harris has agreed to debates in all 11 counties which make up the district. He said Grothman is playing “hide-and-seek” with voters by only agreeing to three debates.
“In most of those debates, (Grothman will) be represented by an empty chair,” Harris said.
Harris’ campaign is launching a website called the realglenngrothman.com, which contains provocative statements that Grothman has made while in the state Legislature on everything from women’s equal pay to sex education and single parenthood.
In 2012, Grothman introduced a state Senate bill which would amend Wisconsin statutes to emphasize single parenthood as a contributing factor to child abuse and neglect.
Grothman’s campaign spokesman Andy Post called the website “inaccurate and misleading.”
