Two officials both claimed it was their first day as the new director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) today. The confusion comes after the former head of the CFPB appointed the agency’s deputy director, Leandra English, as his successor, while President Trump also named Mick Mulvaney, head of the Office of Management and Budget, as the new interim director of the CFPB. Kids Learn To Undervalue Women From Their Parents
There’s been a national conversation about sexual harassment and sexual assault over the last few weeks in the United States. It started in early October with the New York Times story detailing decades of allegations of sexual harassment against film mogul Harvey Weinstein. Since then, many women have come forward to share their stories of sexual harassment and assault with the hashtag #metoo. There are also several prominent men facing accusations now, including comedian Louis C.K., actor Kevin Spacey, and famous interviewer Charlie Rose. Our next guest says that while the conversation now is focused on misogyny in the workplace, that misogyny starts with the subtle gender dynamics in the home.
