Officer Is On Administrative Leave While Authorities Investigate Whether Shooting Was Justified

A man shot by a Colby-Abbotsford police officer after he allegedly struck the officer with a vehicle is expected to survive.

The Wausau Daily Herald reports officers went to an Abbotsford motel Thursday night to investigate the man, and the man allegedly tried to flee in his car, hitting an officer. The officer then fired at the man and hit him.

The man fled in his vehicle and then later on foot but was caught. He was given life-saving measures and flown to a hospital.
