The heat continues across Wisconsin with heat advisories in effect for much of southern and western Wisconsin this afternoon into tonight.
Mark Gehring, lead forecaster for the National Weather Service in Sullivan, says the humidity is pushing the heat index into the lower 100s, with actual temperatures in the 90s. Gehring says a weak cold front will move through the area tonight, but it will only cool temps off just a little bit.
He says the real relief will arrive just in time for the Labor Day holiday. The weekend will see humid weather and temperatures in the 80s, but a cold front will sweep through the state on Sunday night, leaving temperatures in the 70s for Monday.
