Film focused on illegal abortions in Chicago before Roe v. Wade
A group of women activists in Chicago facilitated as many as 11,000 abortions in the early 1970s, when the procedure was illegal. Several of the women recount that harrowing time in the HBO documentary “The Janes.” A director of the film joins us.

Gender discrimination in the courtroom
A Dane County judge recently referred former state Supreme Court justice Michael Gableman to the Office of Lawyer Regulation for comments he made in court about a female lawyer. The judge called the comments “misogynistic.” We speak with an author, law professor and attorney about gender discrimination in courtrooms.
