There is nothing more magical than reading a great book to a child!  And there is something extra special about reading a book written by someone whom your child has met in person. On Saturday, June 7th, the Caramel Crisp Bookstore will be hosting a wonderful group of children’s authors from right here in the Oshkosh area at the third annual Local Children’s Author Book Fair.  

What a great opportunity for your family to meet the creators of the books that they love! And what a great chance for parents to find some excellent books to keep their children immersed in reading over the summer months. 

This year’s Children’s Book Fair features over 25  beloved local authors, including Bob Allen, of Walter the Wily Walleye fame and Jacqueline Paske Gill, a local teacher and library professional.  Lisa Heller will be on hand with her books, A Dragon for my Birthday and Sister Wants a Unicorn, whose sales benefit the Oshkosh Children’s Museum project. The Museum project will be facilitating a “Tell Your Own Story” activity, in which children can write or draw their story with the help of adult volunteers. 

Other activities include a “make your own bookmark” table with our friend Elle Binder and a petting zoo that will include baby goats provided by Becky Mills. 

The lovely folks from the Oshkosh Public Library will also be there as well, kicking off their Summer Reading Program!
