A journey through rhythm and movement across centuries and cultures.
Rediscover the physical joy of music – from Autumn Maria Reed’s bold new commission to the courtly elegance of Warlock’s Capriol Suite, the fluid grace of Bonis, the bold swagger of Gershwin, and the vibrant energy of klezmer. This program explores dance as a deep expression of cultural identity and emotion.
We are also honored to partner with Violins of Hope – Wisconsin, presented by the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra. Several CCO members will play instruments that belonged to Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust. Given new life, the voices of these violins carry both grief and resilience, reminding us that the legacy of those who perished endures. In their notes, we hear not only sorrow but also courage, dignity, and the enduring power of hope.
