Jazz Coterie concert series presents Benny Benack III on his Midwest Jazz Collective tour with Tyler Henderson (p), Caleb Tobocman (b), and Charles Goold (d).

New York trumpeter, vocalist, and composer Benny Benack has been rapidly ascending the jazz ranks. There are few artists on the scene today with as much talent, energy, and magnetic charm.

In addition to global touring as a bandleader, Benny has been a trumpeting sideman to Josh Groban, Christian McBride, Ben Folds, Ann Hampton Callaway and more. He’s been featured at Birdland, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Mezzrow, Café Carlyle, and other leading New York venues. And he frequently performs in the house band on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

His global recognition has been further bolstered by recent tours with social phenomenon Stella Cole, live-streaming concerts at Smalls Jazz Club (where he maintains a weekly residency), as well as frequent appearances on Emmet Cohen’s live-stream show “Emmet’s Place.”
