Woman Accused Of Participating In GTAC ‘Raid’ Requests New Judge

The woman accused of crashing a mine drilling site last June has gotten a new judge in the case.

Katie Kloth, a 27-year-old woman from Weston, is accused of felony robbery with use of force and three misdemeanors for party to a crime and criminal damage to property. On June 11 last year, Kloth and about a dozen others were shown on a video dressed in black with masks emerging from the woods at a Gogebic Taconite exploratory drilling site in Iron County. She is the only one charged in the incident.

Kloth was to be arraigned Monday, but her attorney asked for a new judge to replace Iron County Judge Patrick Madden. Madden says Wisconsin law gives her the right to ask for another judge without giving a reason.

Price County Judge Douglas Fox has been named to replace Madden. No new court date has been set.
