In response to a Madison police shooting two months ago that killed 19-year-old Tony Robinson, University of Wisconsin-Madison law students have made an educational video that discusses use of force by police.
The 15-minute video comes out a day before Dane County’s district attorney plans to announce whether he will announce criminal charges against a white officer for shooting Robinson, an unarmed black man.
Qortney McLeod is co-president of the Black Law Student Association at UW-Madison, which made the video along with the Latino Law Student Association.

“I think part of the reason people are so upset is because there’s not really an understanding of the process and the law behind what’s going into making these decisions,” said McLeod.
UW-Madison law students said they hope their video about use of force improves transparency and aids in community healing .
