Gov. Scott Walker travelled to London Monday to begin a four-day trade mission.
Walker’s office said the trip will focus on promoting Wisconsin as a destination for European investors. Walker is scheduled to meet with several companies and government officials and deliver a speech before the Chatham House think tank. Joining the governor on the trip is Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation CEO Reed Hall.
While the trip is officially state business, it comes as Walker is ramping up for a likely presidential run. Like other governors seeking the GOP nomination in 2016, Walker’s lack of foreign policy experience is seen as a possible weakness. The governor might point to trips like this one in an effort to offset that.
