Potential high-speed rail route chosen through Wisconsin

A year ago, Wisconsin was embroiled in a heated debate over a high-speed rail line between Madison and Milwaukee.Eventually, then Governor-elect Scott Walker was successful in derailng the line, and high-speed train service in Wisconsin appeared to many to be put off for years.

But last week, transportation officials announed plans for high speed rail between Minnesota’s Twin Cities and Chicago… with stops in places like La Crosse and Milwaukee.

WPR’s Terry Bell spoke about this with Dan Krom.He’s the manager of the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Passenger Rail Office.
