A recent on-line article raised quite a ruckus in parts of northern Wisconsin.The piece on Yahoo Finance listed Burnett, Sawyer, and Vilas Counties as three of America’s top ten “ghost towns”, communities with a high rate of home vacancies. But local economic development officials in Vilas County say the piece skims the data, and jumps to some highly inaccurate conclusions.Ken Stubbe, executive director of the Vilas County Economic Development Corporation in Eagle River, talked to WPR’s Terry Bell about the article.
