Written thirty years after “Staggerford,” this new novel is centered on Agatha McGee. A flood threatens the Minnesota village of Staggerford, but the 80 year-old Miss McGee refuses to leave her house. Not surprisingly, she finds plenty of interesting characters to share the experience.
