Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel said investigators are sifting through interviews with 60 witnesses and hours of video footage to compile a report about the shooting death of Tony Robinson, who was shot by Madison police officer Matt Kenny last Friday.

Schimel told reporters in a Thursday afternoon press conference that more than 29 agents from the Division of Criminal Investigation are working on the case. He said the report should be complete in two weeks.

He added that no information will be released to the public before it is sent to Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne, who will determine whether the shooting was justified.

“Now, releasing information piecemeal, as I think we have seen with some of these officer-involved death cases nationwide, has cause a great deal of turmoil,” said Schimel. “It has done a disservice to the search for the truth.”

David Matthews, the director of the Division of Criminal Investigation, said investigators are keeping the Robinson family up to date on the progress of the probe on a daily basis.
