WPR Music presents two broadcasts of Madison Opera productions

Madison Opera production of Puccini’s “Tosca”

Two performances from the 2023/24 Madison Opera season are featured on Saturdays at Noon this June on WPR Music. Both broadcasts include cast interviews, and are hosted by WPR’s Lori Skelton. Recorded at Overture Center in Madison.

June 15 at Noon: Puccini’s “Tosca” tells the story of an opera singer who faces danger for the sake of her threatened lover. Starring Michelle Johnson, Limmie Pulliam, Craig Irvin, Alex Soare, Mark Billy, William Johnson, Timothy Krueger, and Ryan White. With the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Madison Opera Chorus, and Madison Youth Choirs. Conducted by John DeMain.

June 22 at Noon: “The Anonymous Lover” by Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. Will anonymous love letters lead to true love? Starring Keely Futterer, David Blalock, Yazid Gray, Brianna Murray, Hailey Cohen, and William Johnson. With the Madison Symphony Orchestra. Conducted by Michelle Rofrano.
