The state Department of Natural Resources Board has unanimously passed a resolution against Gov. Scott Walker’s plan to make the board advisory.
Walker has said that under his proposal, the DNR Board would continue to receive public input and advise the DNR secretary, but that the secretary and their office should be responsible for policy.
The board, in its resolution, said that the change “would result in important natural resources decisions being made behind closed doors without any public input.”

The board, which includes five Walker appointees, asked that the language making the change in the proposed state budget be removed.
