The city of Eau Claire is gearing up for a brand new music festival fronted by local Grammy-winning singer Justin Vernon.
Crews have been busy all week building four stages, setting up high-tech light systems and rigging speakers for the two-day Eaux Claires Music Festival this weekend. More than 40 bands from around the world will play staggered sets with light shows, art installations and film festivals in between.
Festival producer Mike Snow said the goal of the Eaux Claires event is to immerse the audience in art.

“We really tried to touch on all of it and give everybody something that they were comfortable with and familiar with and then something completely new and something completely stimulating in another way,” said Snow.
He said between 25,000 and 30,000 tickets have been sold in the U.S. and all over the world.
Vernon’s band Bon Iver will headline the festival, which begins Friday afternoon.
