Three groups of protest marchers have combined to march to the site of the Republican presidential candidate debate in Milwaukee Tuesday evening.

The three groups are Black Lives Matter, which calls for an end to police shootings of African-Americans; Wisconsin Jobs Now, which is seeking a higher minimum wage; and the immigrant rights group Voces de la Frontera.

Longtime national Latino advocate Dolores Huerta, speaking with Voces at a morning news conference, said she thinks the majority of Americans support their respective causes.

“When you take women, you take working people, you take people of color, you take … white men of conscience, right, then we are the majority,” she said. “And if we do come together, this is the way we will win.”

Huerta went on to say that the policies of many of the GOP contenders are hurtful, and dehumanize Latinos.

As of 5:30 p.m., the protesters have converged at Milwaukee City Hall, and are preparing to march to the Milwaukee Theatre, the venue for the debate.
