Sure, you may be able to make a good cookie from scratch and whip up a decent salad dressing with some ingredients in the fridge, but are there certain store-bought flavors you just can’t seem to replicate? We talk with a food editor about those flavors we just can’t seem to replicate and we ask you to share as well. We also hear from a supporter of Governor Walker and a supporter of Evers for governor and discuss a report that show Hepatitis C cases on the rise in Wisconsin.

  • Hepatitis C On The Rise In Wisconsin

A recent study from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services shows an increase in the number of Hepatitis C cases in the state over the last nine years. We talk to a public health researcher and practicing physician about why the numbers are going up and what we can do stop it.

Editor’s note: The statistics mentioned about the rise in Hepatitis C cases in Wisconsin in the audio version of this interview are incorrect. The number of cases of Hepatitis C in Wisconsin in 2008 were 2,373, compared to 2017 which had 3,067 cases. That comes out to a 29 percent increase in Hepatitis C cases from 2008 to 2017. Those figures come from a July 2018 report from the state Department of Health Services, which you can read at https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/publications/p00440-2017.pdf.

  • Some Foods Are Just Better When Bought

There’s no denying it. Your two-hour long attempt at homemade crackers may come at more cost than an actual box of Wheat Thins. You might be able to make a great homemade salad dressing, but will you ever nail down the flavor of ketchup? In many cases, the homemade version of something may be healthier, but which one is the taste you crave? Oreo fanatics, boxed-cake-mix bakers, store-boughten-hummus lovers unite. We talk with the food editor at Lifehacker and hear you weigh in on your favorite store-boughten snacks and the flavors you’ve mastered in your own kitchen.

  • Who Would Be A Better Governor: Walker Or Evers?

Gov. Scott Walker and his Democratic opponent Tony Evers wasted no time getting into full campaign mode after last week’s primary elections. Our guests debate which candidate would be better for Wisconsin in terms of education, the economy, roads and prisons.
