Supreme Court Rules Same Sex Marriage Is A Right
Friday morning, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriage is a constitutional right.
In Wisconsin, Democrats hailed the justices' 5-4 decision as a victory for fairness and civil rights. U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin, who is a lesbian, called it a historic step forward. But Republican Gov. Scott Walker issued a statement criticizing the ruling and calling it a "grave mistake."

Supreme Court Rules ACA Subsidies Are Legal
On Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a key provision of the Affordable Care Act, which allows the federal government to provide subsidies to people buying health insurance on the federal exchange. The 6-3 ruling means that more than 166,000 Wisconsinites will be able to keep receiving subsidies. Gov. Walker called on Republicans in the House and Senate to repeal what he calls a "destructive and costly law."

Walker Signs Bills Expanding Gun Rights
Gov. Scott Walker signed two new gun bills into law on Wednesday: One will eliminate the 48-hour waiting period for purchasing handguns; the other will allow off-duty and retired police officers to carry guns in schools. Some criticized Walker’s timing, signing the bills in a public ceremony so close to last week’s South Carolina church shooting. Walker denied the bills had anything to do with what happened in Charleston.
