Black Hawk Folk Society presents The Water Street Hot Shots experts at performing old-time blues, rags, hokum, and novelty tunes in the style of the 1930s jug bands. Leader Michael Lee Ammons grew up just a mile away from the Paramont Records studio in Grafton, where so many great blues artists recorded, and he seems to have gotten this music by osmosis. Ammons' work on his National Resophonics guitar plus a variety of vintage guitars anchors a band that includes fiddle, mandolin, bass and an assortment of jugs, washboards and kazoos.
