Walker’s Cabinet Remains Unchanged Entering Second Term

Gov. Scott Walker’s cabinet secretaries from his first term will remain on board the administration as Walker kicks off a second term in office.

There’s typically some turnover among cabinet secretaries as a new term begins, and Walker himself said recently that there would be changes in his cabinet. But at least for the start of this term, Walker’s entire cabinet — a body that includes Administration Secretary Mike Huebsch, Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp, Health Services Secretary Kitty Rhoades and Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation CEO Reed Hall — will stay put.

Huebsch, Stepp and Rhoades have been with Walker since shortly after he took office.

The continuity from one term to the next will let Walker hit the ground running with his next budget, which he has said he wants the Legislature to pass faster than usual. It also keeps state government in more experienced hands should the governor at some point begin actively campaigning for president.
