Walker Says He’s Not Fazed By Falling Poll Numbers

Gov. Scott Walker says his falling poll numbers in the GOP presidential primary race are not a concern.

Walker’s numbers have dipped below Donald Trump in Iowa, and support for the governor is down in New Hampshire, too. At the Wisconsin State Fair Tuesday night, Walker shrugged off the latest results.

“You’re gonna see ebbs and flows throughout this race,” he said. “It’s August. The election’s not until next November, so lots can happen between now and then. I used to run track when I was in high school, and a lot of guys ran out in front. Sometimes they went back and forth. My cue was to be in a position to get out front by the time they got to the finish line.”

Walker said Tuesday night that he still won’t “trash talk” his GOP opponents. On Fox News Tuesday, Walker nevertheless criticized Donald Trump after the businessman and current GOP front-runner again went after Walker’s record.
