Republican Indiana Gov. Mike Pence stopped at a Duluth airport Monday morning to stump for running mate and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. There, supporters said they’re voting for Trump on Election Day to avoid more of the same Washington, D.C. politics.

Fighter jets flew overhead before Pence took the stage. The Republican governor told a crowd of roughly a few hundred people that Trump would support better security at home and abroad, lower taxes, put a moratorium on new regulations and repeal the Affordable Care Act.

“We got a basket of the American people that are saying enough is enough,” Pence said. “We’re going to make America great again.”

Robert Peterson of Superior said he’s voting for Trump because he doesn’t think the United States would survive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“She’s a crook. That’s plain and simple,” Peterson said.

Pence acknowledged FBI Director James Comey’s letter to lawmakers Sunday that said the agency confirmed its decision that Clinton should not face criminal charges tied to her use of a private email server as secretary of state. Comey stirred up the final weeks on the campaign trail when he informed lawmakers the FBI was reopening its investigation into Clinton and the email server. Comey’s announcement came after the FBI discovered additional emails from top Clinton aide Huma Abedin through a separate investigation of Abedin’s estranged husband, former Congressman Anthony Weiner.

“Yesterday, the FBI announced that they had not changed their conclusion,” Pence said, drawing boos from the crowd. “But, I think it’s important with one day left for this election that we talk about what we already know. As the old saying goes, facts are stubborn things. Here’s a fact for you: Mishandling classified information is a crime.”

In July, Comey said the agency found evidence Secretary Clinton and others were “extremely careless” in handling classified information, but it couldn’t prove intentional misconduct.

Jason Semo of Gilbert, Minnesota, works as a 911 dispatcher in Douglas County, Wisconsin. With only a day remaining before the election, Semo said he’s still undecided.

“I have kind of a trust issue with both of the candidates,” Semo said. “I’m not a fan of either.”

But, Semo approved of Trump’s support for law enforcement and is leaning toward the Republican nominee.

“I’m really, really tired of seeing the stuff that’s happening to cops that don’t deserve it,” Semo said, referring to the recent shooting of a Rusk County sheriff’s deputy last week.

Other Trump supporters at the Pence rally said they liked that the Republican nominee speaks his mind rather than saying what’s politically correct. They added Trump seemed to hold more value of conservative, Christian views and a proactive approach to national security at home and abroad.
