Police Say Matthew Brown, Director Of Superior/Douglas County Senior Citizens Center, Stole $10,000 From Organization

Superior arrested the director of the local senior citizens center on Monday, accusing him of embezzling more than $10,000 of the nonprofit center’s money.

Police arrested 30-year-old Mathew Brown and charged him with felony theft. They say Brown is cooperating with them.

A board member of the Superior/Douglas County Senior Citizens Center notified police after Brown apparently confessed to the embezzlement.

Brown has been director of the center for six years. The center has activities, counseling and hot lunches for elderly citizens.
