Summerfest saw an increase in attendance this year compared to last year's event.
Preliminary data shows that the world's largest music festival hosted a little over 840,000 patrons, a 4.3 percent increase from last year. John Boler is the chief marketing officer for Summerfest. He says that relatively good weather, a diverse music lineup, and the addition of new daytime activities contributed to the increase. Attendees traveled to Milwaukee from all 50 states and 40 countries.
