Almost 60% of Wisconsin students in grades 9 through 12 reported depression, anxiety, self-harm or suicidal ideation in 2019, according to data gathered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
“The West Side” looks at the effects of major social challenges – including the COVID-19 pandemic and statewide psychiatric care shortages – on kids’ and teens’ mental health.
