Host Dean Kallenbach welcomes Madeline Fuerstenberg (pictured second from left), the UWEC student journalist who broke the story last November in the student newspaper “The Spectator” about the Snapchat posts that included racial slurs and photos of burning crosses directed at the student organization called Black Male Empowerment.
Also on the program will be Youssra Bentaalla (pictured far left), who co-chaired an Equity Diversity and Inclusion Rapid Action Task Force that made recommendations to UWEC Chancellor James Schmidt regarding ways to improve the school’s EDI plan and its implementation; Selika Ducksworth-Lawton (pictured third), a UWEC professor of history and of women’s, gender and sexuality studies at UWEC who represents the Chippewa Valley chapter on the executive board of the American Civil Liberties Union-Wisconsin, and is a leader in the Uniting Bridges of the Chippewa Valley; and Warren Anderson (pictured far right), UW-Eau Claire’s vice-chancellor of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
