Host Dean Kallenbach welcomes Nancy Renkes, executive director of Feed My People, the Eau Claire-based food bank that provides food to over 200 relief organizations in 14 counties of western Wisconsin; Melissa Larson, Food Access and Resources Coordinator at West Community Action Program (CAP), a community action agency which works to promote self-sufficiency in low-income families in the rural areas in seven west-central Wisconsin counties; and Rebecca McAtee, the director of the Bureau of Enrollment Policy and Systems at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, where she administers that state’s FoodShare program.
The program will also include an update from Rich Kremer, WPR broadcast journalist on the surge of COVID-19 cases in western Wisconsin and its effects on local hospitals and care centers.
