The first UW-Eau Claire GEEKcon is coming to the Davies Center on Saturday, December 9. Rob Mattison from UW-Eau Claire Learning and Technology Services will discuss the event with host Al Ross. GEEKcon will feature merchandise, panel discussions with comic book creators and game creators, cosplay, Pokémon, monster models, knitting, podcasting and much more.
Sarah French, executive director of the Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation, joined the show to talk about the Artist in the Classroom program. The program, supported by an endowment fund through the foundation, brings artists to local schools for one semester to share their experiences with students and faculty. Artists Kris Gausman and Erin Phelps-Stark will be first artists to participate in the program in Eau Claire and will begin their partnership at Flynn Elementary School in February, 2018.
