Three regional theater companies stage performances this month. Nicolle Sabatke-Orson from the Northern Star Theater Company in Rice Lake talks about “Steel Magnolias.” Melissa Kneeland from the Menomonie Theater Guild provides highlights about “Black Friday” by Menomonie native John Russell, which will be performed at Menomonie’s Mabel Tainter Theater. The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild performs “The Pirates of Penzance” May 12 through 15 as part of their 40th Anniversary season. Director Nate Plummer weighs anchor on the musical comedy, which is staged at the Pablo Center at the Confluence in Eau Claire.
The Upper St. Croix Valley Earth Arts Spring Tour is May 6 through 8 this year. It features 21 stops with over 40 artists displaying and demonstrating their work during the event. Balsam Lake artist Deborah Stull-Kinsley joins the show to give details about the tour.
