Former University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire faculty member Alexandre Dossin will perform at the Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls on Tuesday March 27. Ross and Dossin reviewed his career, his current position at the University of Oregon, and playedsamples of his music. The concert is sponsored by the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association.
Ross welcomed Joe Rein to discuss his recently published book “Roads Without Houses,” a collection of 15 regionally-based short stories. Rein, an associate professor of creative writing at UW-River Falls, also previewed his next writing project, a contemporary dystopian murder mystery.
Jim Oliver talked with Jim Zimmerman and Phil Olson, director and playwright respectively, of “Don’t Hug Me, We’re Family” the sixth in the “Don’t Hug Me” series of musical comedies. The production is playing Fridays and Saturdays through May 19 at the St. Croix Off Broadway Dinner Theater in Hudson.
Kevin Peters, musical director of The Red Cedar Symphony Orchestra, visited Ross to preview the group’s spring performances which will take place on Saturday, March 24 in Cumberland and Sunday, March 25 in Rice Lake. The concerts will feature the winners of the symphony’s 2018 Concerto Competition with works by Tchaikovsky, Bernstein, Gershwin and Mozart.
