Ross welcomed Jorgenson to discuss the collaborative efforts among faculty, staff, administrators and students at UW-Eau Claire when it comes to LGBTQ students. UW-Eau Claire was recently named the best supportive campus environment for LGBTQ students in Wisconsin by Bestcolleges.com and Campus Pride.
Cathy Reitz, director with the Chippewa Valley Community Chorus, visited Spectrum West to take a look at upcoming vocal concerts by the group featuring the Stand in the Light Memory Choir and the Chippewa Valley Youth Choir. The concerts will be on March 10 and 11 at the Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls.
Correspondent Jim Oliver shared his conversation with John Kunik, who is directing the production of “Once Upon a Mattress” at the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson. Performances begin March 9 and run through March 31.
Ross invited Peter Olson from UW-Stout to the show for a look at the school’s yearly Reading Across Campus program. This year’s spotlight is on playwright August Wilson’s book “Fences,” and will include reading the book, a screening of the 2016 movie by the same name and a March 1 lecture by Lou Bellamy, the founding director of Penumbra Theatre in St. Paul.
