May is Creative Economy Month and the Eau Claire Public Arts Council, Visit Eau Claire and Downtown Eau Claire are teaming up to recognize and celebrate our creative culture and its economic impact in our community. The Creative Economy is the focus of this week’s edition of “Spectrum West.”
Jo Ellen Burke, president of the Arts Council, and San Francisco sculptor Michael Szabo join host Al Ross to preview the month and discuss Szabo’s new sculpture, “Eddies,” which will be unveiled in Haymarket Square later in the month.
Deborah Stull-Kinsely, artist and proprietor of Wild River Arts in Balsam Lake, stops by to talk about the upcoming 20th annual Earth Arts Spring Tour. The tour, which was cancelled last year due to COVID, will take place over May 7-9.
Two western Wisconsin poets, Thomas R. Smith and Karen Loeb, round out April’s National Poetry Month festivities with samples of their respective works.
