Over the years, South African music has boldly placed its footprint on the musical landscape of traditional African music. Celebrated styles such as isicathamiya, jaiva, and mbube were popularized by such legendary groups as Ladysmith Black Mambazo, the Mahotella Queens, and others. These styles, hailing from the African continent are today celebrated around the world. With their musical star still on the rise, the group, Black Umfolosi is gaining increased attention for their embrace of these forms as an A cappella mbube singing and traditional dance ensemble.
