In the United States more than five million people suffer from Alzheimer’s disease at an estimated annual cost of $200 billion, and, if unchecked, the disease has the potential to bankrupt Medicare. The high prevalence of Alzheimer’s is of particular concern because of the lack of success in developing effective therapeutics to fight it. Neurologist Dale Bredesen will detail his success with arresting and in some cases reversing the effects of Alzheimer’s disease.
