Most parents want their children to be successful and as such, don’t shy away from pushing their kids a bit. But what’s the line between helpful encouragement and harmful pressure? NPR correspondent Allison Aubrey shares her new reporting on depression and anxiety in kids whose families and schools place a high premium on achievement. Then, a UW expert shares his insights on why childhood anxiety and depression happens, and what we can do about it.
