Small presses are having a big moment in the publishing world, and for several reasons. Relatively unknown presses are releasing widely celebrated books to critical acclaim. Cornerstone Press, which is housed within the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, is one such publishing house.

Shereen Siewert welcomes Dr. Ross K. Tangedal, director and publisher in chief at Cornerstone Press, along with two representatives from this semester’s editing and publishing class: Director of Operations McKenna Rentmeester and Marketing Director Tori Schuler. Cornerstone Press is one of just a few undergraduate teaching presses in the nation, and it publishes up to five books each year. The operation might be small, but the impact for students, local authors and community partners is substantial.

Additional members of the Fall 2019 Editing and Publishing course joined Tangedal (top right), Rentmeester (front left) Schuler (front right) in WPR’s Wausau studios during the broadcast.
